BWXT is currently seeking a Lean Kaizen Leader for its Euclid, OH location!

The Lean Kaizen Leader role is a tactical, hands-on, results driven role that is responsible for building and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement in the operations and salary support organizations at Nuclear Operations Group-Euclid (NOG-E). The Lean Kaizen Leader will work with cross functional teams (including operators, shop supervision, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, etc.) to prioritize and drive performance improvements across all areas of manufacturing.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities within the value stream to help drive improvements that tie into NOG-E's Key Performance Indicators.

  • Form teams, facilitate, and document Process Kaizen events.

  • Define value for various work areas and groups of operations.

  • Value stream map or process map processes and identify Value Add (VA) and Non-Value Add (NVA) activities.

  • Work across all levels of the organization to systematically identify and eliminate waste.

  • Use visual management, 5S, standard work, and other appropriate tools to eliminate waste and improve flow.

  • Assist with developing and delivering Kaizen training to the general workforce.

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

The position requires the ability to learn and become proficient with the use of Lean Six Sigma principles, methodologies, and tools. The Lean Kaizen Leader will be required to attend special training prior to leading Kaizen events and will eventually be required to certify as a Lean Kaizen Leader. Previous experience or familiarity with the Toyota Production System, Gemba Kaizen, and the Toyota Way is a plus.

  • A minimum of a two year degree is required.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a technical field is preferred but not required.

  • Minimum of 2 years related work experience is required.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability and strong interpersonal skills.

  • The candidate should have the ability to implement improvements and can thrive on managing a variety of Kaizen events concurrently and within deadlines.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

  • Ability to report to work at an assigned office location. This position does not include a remote work option.

Benefits:

The Lean Kaizen Leader will work a 9/80 work week while receiving market leading pay, paid time off, paid winter holiday shutdown, educational refund plan, medical, dental, vision and service-based retirement contributions with additional 401k match.

Pay: $62,000 - $97,000

The base salary range for this position in OH at the start of employment is expected to be between $62,000 and $97,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
