BWXT is currently seeking an Application and Systems Developer for its Lynchburg, VA location.
The Application Developer will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of applications that support the manufacturing of products at BWXT.
Job Description/Duties:
Design, implement, and test software.
Document development and provide end user support.
Support migration of a large legacy MES system to a newer version.
Develop and support modern replacements for legacy software using Microsoft Visual Studio and the .NET framework using Oracle and/or SQL Server databases.
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field with a minimum of five (5) years of experience
OR a high school diploma/GED with at least nine (9) years of related experience.
Demonstrable knowledge of application development using MS .Net tools with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server).
Experience with full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and in a team.
Strong software testing skills and knowledge of development of User Interfaces for data driven applications is a plus
Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
Must be willing to report to work at the assigned work location in Lynchburg, Virginia. This is a fully on-site position.
Pay: $62,000 - $109,000
The base salary range for this position in Virginia at the start of employment is expected to be between $62,000 and $109,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
