BWXT is currently seeking a Strategic Sourcing Specialist for its Lynchburg, VA location!
BWXT Advanced Technologies is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to support exciting first-of-a-kind government funded contracts. This role will offer a hybrid schedule contingent upon program needs and is required to travel up to 20% of time.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Identifies, manages, escalates, and mitigates supply-based risks throughout the procurement life cycle in support of government contract requirements, operational goals, and business strategy.
Partners with other functional groups, including legal, contracts, PMO, QA, risk management, finance, and others.
Negotiates non-disclosure agreements.
Creates and issues requests for proposals and evaluates supplier proposals.
Conducts pricing analysis.
Negotiates terms and conditions with suppliers.
Monitors subcontractor performance and initiates corrective action if performance falters; executes contract modifications in response to changing requirements; and performs close-out activities.
Provides guidance on financial and contractual matters pertaining to subcontracts.
Schedules and leads meetings with PMO, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate communication and coordination of subcontractor actions.
Completes Purchase Order administration duties, including issuance, revision management, claim resolution, discrepancy settlement, etc.
Tracks open orders and reports status as required in support of the business needs.
Visits and monitors performance of suppliers as necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field plus six (6) years of relevant buyer experience; OR a high school diploma or equivalent plus ten (10) years of relevant buyer experience.
Must be detail oriented, organized, and flexible.
Ability to set priorities and de-conflict multiple demands.
Ability to apply sound business judgment.
Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiating skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint.
Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) or U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience supporting manufacturing.
Strong working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP platforms desired.
Previous experience with negotiating terms and conditions in support of FAR/DFAR based contracts.
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a supply chain role with a prime contractor in support of government funded contracts.
Pay: $77,000 - $112,000
The base salary range for this position in Virginia at the start of employment is expected to be between $77,000 and $112,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
